Manuel Gomez

Community Volunteer. La Mesa. 

Priorities for San Diego County Democratic Party:


Manuel Gomez has lived in La Mesa with his wife and young daughter for over 15 years. A residential construction worker, he has seen an alarming decline in the state of housing in our communities. He believes housing should be affordable for everyone regardless of their yearly salary. 


Manuel Gomez believes we need drastic and immediate change in how we have addressed the homelessness in our communities. Not only in the housing we provide, but how we allocate funds and who is given control over these funds.  


A passionate environmental advocate, Manuel Gomez will fight for to prioritize environmental issues in our Democratic Party. 

Samantha Jenkins

Commissioner, City of San Diego. Paradise Hills. 

Priorities for San Diego County Democratic Party: 

Samantha Jenkins is a community-based, independently minded, lifelong-Democrat. A navy veteran, she has a demonstrated track record for service and leadership in her community. Samantha has been a board member at the NAACP, the Citizens Advisory Board for Police & Community Relations, a leader with the Blue Star Families organization,  a chairperson with the Skyline Paradise Hills Community Planning Group and a leader within Women Give San Diego. She is currently a board member with Alliance San Diego and the Black & African Women Rise Democratic Club.

She will advocate for our communities and bring our voices to the table in our local Democratic Party. 

Patricia Normandy Dillard

Central Committee Member. La Mesa.

Priorities for San Diego County Democratic Party: 

Since her election, Patricia has accomplished many important things to help La Mesa.  She supported and expanded our Homeless Outreach Mobility Engagement (HOME) program. The program has had a very high success rate and has many successful stories from people who have accomplished staying OUT of homelessness. She is also responsible for bringing another 100% affordable housing project to La Mesa.

She championed the Tobacco ordinance to help prevent our local retailers from selling tobacco products to children under the age of 18.

She  lead to make La Mesa in the county of San Diego to agree to work with San Diego Labor Council to provide Project Labor Agreements (PLA), the agreement helps new construction builds in La Mesa to ensure certified and licensed union professionals are used. 


Alyce Marie Pipkin-Allen

Community Advocate. Southeast San Diego.

Alyce has more than 20 years of workforce management experience in public service and another 30 years of community advocacy and activism in nonprofit and political organizations. Alyce Pipkin-Allen  recruited professional, progressive, and visionary women to launch the democratic club "Black and African Women Rise" (BAWR) with a mission to build a multigenerational coalition of Black Women of the African diaspora to amplify our voices and give priority to our issues and communities. 

She currently serves as Vice President of the San Diego Chapter of the  non-profit Black American Political Association.  She co-founded the Black Woman’s Institute of Leadership Development, Women Give San Diego’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and is a Board Member of 1619 National Celebration of Black Women.

Minola Clark Manson

Workforce Development Director. Lemon Grove

Priorities for San Diego County Democratic Party: 

Minola Clark Manson has been as a leader in Workforce Development in Behavioral Health and Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity. She is a  collaborative leader who understands that every voice is needed to take effective action.   Minola came to San Diego County over 30 years ago as a student. She has built her life here - achieving her masters degree in clinical phycology, and raising her family along with her husband. 


Frances Yasmeen Motiwalla

Political Organizer. East San Diego City

Top Priorities for San Diego County Democratic Party: 

Frances Yasmeen Motiwalla has been a grassroots political organizer since 2008 when she became a street canvasser director with Peace Action, mobilizing the public for diplomacy and nuclear disarmament over the next decade.  She is on the board of Activist San Diego, an information, communications and mobilization organization networking for social justice. As a  multi-racial LQBTQ activist she champions inclusion and diversity for all.  Her top issues are Campaign Finance Reform, a Green New Deal and  Guaranteed Healthcare, Housing, Education, and Employment for All.
